MARA
The objective of this project was to create a short title sequence for a nonfiction series. I decided to base my series on a Buddhist story known as “I See You, Mara!”. To give more context to this story, Mara is the personification of powers going against us to reach enlightenment. In the story, Buddha is facing one direction while Mara is trying to sneak up on Buddha. However, rather than allowing Mara to come closer, Buddha acknowledges Mara’s presence by saying “I see you, Mara!”. Defeating Mara’s objective which is wanting to be feared by others. This story is to teach us a lesson that we tend to run away from things that we fear, but do we ever wonder what happens when we stop running away and actually take a look at Mara.
